With ENT waiting lists over 700,000 nationally (source: ENT UK and Nuffield Trust) and staff ever harder to find and retain, the challenges facing NHS ENT and Audiology departments today are unprecedented and require new, innovative models in order to tackle them.
That is why we have built the TPG ENT & Audiology Insourcing model, designed to alleviate waiting list pressures and allow the NHS to operate in the most efficient way possible. Backed by our robust Clinical Governance procedures and operating under National Clinical Insourcing Frameworks, our model draws on two decades of experience and an unrivalled Audiology network to address patient diagnostic backlogs and help you achieve waiting list targets.
The model can be tailored to meet your specific needs and can range from a single clinician up to an entire team, including ENT Consultants, Audiologists and admin/Audiology receptionists. It can be deployed for weekend/evening clinics or additional midweek capacity and, being Framework approved, is competitively priced against tariff helping you manage your budgets as well. Whether it's a team or single clinician model, insourcing deployments typically work long days so can get through a huge volume of patients and really make a meaningful impact on your waiting list target and alleviate the RTT pressure on the service.
Our team can run clinics either 1:1 or 2:1 as required, testing hearing of children under 3 years old.
PTA assessments for children, typically over 3 years old, where the child responds to sounds played at decreasing volume to assess their hearing threshold.
Our Consultant-led ENT teams can be deployed to carry out low acuity day case procedures including tonsillectomies, rhinology and otology.
Our team of audiologists can provide hearing aid assessment and fitting on the same day using either the Trust's existing device providers or sourcing our own if preferred.
Our Insourcing service can make a rapid and very tangible impact on the Trust's RTT targets and help the Audiology Department achieve the 6 week diagnostic wait mandate.
We would deploy a team of Audiologists into the Trust over evenings and weekends to work through your lists of patients. Typically, these teams would be made up of 5 or more Audiologists each of whom can get through up to 10 patients in a day. With a team of 5, that would be 100 tests per weekend, so you can see how quickly that RTT waiting time would come down.
Our service is supplied through the NHS National Frameworks, so is priced against tariff ensuring the Trust receives the best value. With Trusts/Commissioners being fined each time the 52 week RTT waiting time is breached, insourcing has the proven potential to offer a significant cost saving.

It has been a pleasure working with TPG Insourcing. In the past we had problems with teams that refused to be flexible in their management of time. You had helped in removing some of the obstacles and it was a joy working with you.
