With endoscopy waiting lists growing significantly nationwide (source: NHS England) and staff becoming increasingly difficult to find and retain, the challenges facing NHS endoscopy departments today are unprecedented and require innovative models to address them.
That's why we've developed our Endoscopy Insourcing model, designed to alleviate waiting list pressures and allow the NHS to operate as efficiently as possible. Backed by robust Clinical Governance procedures and operating under National Clinical Insourcing Frameworks, our model draws on extensive experience and an unrivalled network of endoscopy specialists to address patient diagnostic backlogs and help you achieve waiting list targets.
The model can be tailored to meet your specific needs and can range from a single clinician up to an entire team, led by Consultant Gastroenterologists and including Endoscopists, Nurses, plus decontamination and administrative staff. It can be deployed for weekend/evening clinics or additional midweek capacity and, being Framework approved, is competitively priced against tariff, helping you manage your budgets effectively. Whether it's a team or single clinician model, insourcing deployments typically work long days, allowing for a high volume of procedures and making a meaningful impact on your waiting list target and alleviating RTT pressure on the service.
Our Endoscopy Insourcing service is fully compliant with Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation standards. We understand the importance of maintaining the highest quality and safety standards in endoscopy services. Our teams are trained to work within JAG guidelines, ensuring that all procedures meet or exceed the required quality metrics. This commitment to JAG standards not only maintains your unit's accreditation but also supports continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and workforce development. By choosing our insourcing service, you can be confident that you're partnering with a provider that aligns with the rigorous standards set by the JAG accreditation program.
Our Endoscopy Insourcing service can make a rapid and tangible impact on the Trust's RTT targets and help the Endoscopy Department achieve the 6-week diagnostic wait mandate.
We would deploy our Endoscopy insourcing Team(s) into the Trust either alongside the client's substantive team (if rooms were available) or over evenings and weekends to work through your backlog list of patients. In a standard 0800 - 1800 day, one team would typically operate at 24 points per day. If multiple rooms were available, this number would clearly be multiplied meaning the model can quickly reduce RTT waiting times and backlogs.
Our service is supplied through the NHS National Frameworks, so is priced against tariff ensuring the Trust receives the best value. With Trusts/Commissioners facing significant financial penalties for breaching the 52-week RTT waiting time, you can see how much money this could save the Trust while improving patient care and outcomes.

It has been a pleasure working with TPG Insourcing. In the past we had problems with teams that refused to be flexible in their management of time. You had helped in removing some of the obstacles and it was a joy working with you.
